"Not the greatest coffee on earth" 2010-04-18
By Jon Ducrou
It may not be the greatest coffee on earth - but it is considerably better than instant coffee. I bought this for a coffee machine I share with team mates at work, and @ 30c each it is a great deal.

I will be definitely buying more in the future - when we get through all 150.....

"Lavazza gran Crema" 2010-04-15
By Fun Traveler (Orefield, PA USA)
this is a great little espresso pod- lots of crema, great taste and my husband has tried many brands. you can get a lot of espresso out of 2 pods (fills his espresso cup up to the top) without sacrificing quality. and with Amazon's auto ship program, the price is about a quarter a pod- unheard of for this quality! Buy a Gaggia espresso machine and you can say goodbye to expensive store coffee forever and enjoy it fresh in your own home.Gaggia 14101 Classic Espresso Machine, Brushed Stainless Steel

The pods are a little more loosely packed than other Italian pods I have purchased, but they make good espresso with decent but not fantastic crema. Flavor is nice and mellow, not super strong or bitter.

"Ripped pods" 2010-04-06
By M. Alarabiat (Chicago)
The delivery was prompt, but the pods came in horrible shape. They look alright from the outside, but once you open them, you'll find that a huge percentage of the pods are just ripped, and thus deemed useless unless you have the patience to actually collect the coffee and then do the tampering manually..Bu hey, you bought the pods to avoid the hassle.

Bad purchase.Never again.

20 oz. straight side steaming pitcher as seen in David Schomer's Latte Art video. 18/10 high quality stainless steel steaming pitcher. This is the most popular espresso milk steaming pitcher available and is the very same frothing pitcher many espresso pros use to create contest winning latte art. Because of its size the 20oz size is also the most popular size of steaming pitcher for commercial or domestic use. Dimensions 3 1/4" x 4 1/2" tall.

Technical Details

- The tapered spout makes these pitchers ideal for performing latte art
- Stainless steel
- Suggested thermometer length is 5¿

"Its a frothing pitcher, its shinny, works great" 2010-04-19
By Bajanut (San Diego)
It looks very nice and shinny under my espresso machine, oh yeah and it does its job wonderfully, 20oz in my opinion is the perfect size, still trying to perfect the production of lots of foam, not that foam makes my drink it just looks prettier in my see-thru mug ;-)

"Well made, perfect size" 2010-04-07
By John C. Gee (St Louis, MO)
This looks exactly like the ones you see at
coffee shops. I'm glad I got the 20 oz size
instead of the 12 oz one, because when you
froth your milk, the froth for a normal size
coffee drink will almost fill this pitcher.

It's stainless steel, and well constructed.
It looks like it will last a lifetime!

Being metal, the pitcher will get quite
hot during the frothing. The handle remains
comfortably cool during the frothing.

I recommend buying a frothing thermometer
with this as well, so that you know when
the milk/froth gets to proper serving
temperature.

"Works Fine...Although" 2010-02-23
By Kaspian (Hawai'i)
It serves its purpose, but as I'm sure most people know, when you boil milk it can be very difficult to clean. It tends to bind to a surface, making cleaning a bit of a chore. This pitcher is no different, except for the fact that the narrow head makes it even more difficult to reach in and clean it. Boiling or hot water should do the trick if you leave it in after frothing.

"Good quality frothing pitcher" 2010-02-22
By S. Quick (Denver)
For the price decent quality pitcher. I have a delonghi coffee/latte/cappucino maker so the frothing arm is a little short for this tall of a pitcher but it's workable. For my type of maker a pitcher that is shorter would probably be better but this pitcher would be just fine for those using a separate frother.

"Best of the Senseo Pods" 2009-09-08
By Regular Joe
I've tried many, many different varieties of pods and this flavor is the one that intersects taste and price at a level I can live with. Yes, it will take 2 pods to make 1 cup of coffee but it doesn't taste too chemically like the Vanilla flavored. If you are a Starbucks lover, probably best to look elsewhere - the Senseo system will never make a cup of coffee that strong or intense. But if you like a milder tasting cup that still packs a nice kick in the AM, these are an overall good choice. Best of the bunch IMO.

Amazon.com Review

For grinding larger quantities of coffee beans for a coffee-drinking crowd, Capresso's commercial-grade Infinity grinder handles 8-1/2 ounces of beans at a time. Sixteen different settings--four each in the four categories of extra fine, fine, regular, and coarse--let you adjust the grind to the specific blend of coffee and method of brewing. The finest setting is ideal for preparing Turkish coffee, which is a rare feature to find in a grinder. A built-in timer sets the grind for anywhere between 5 and 60 seconds so you can walk away without having to constantly press a button to continue the grinding process. The Infinity has an advanced conical burr design made of steel that is usually only found on commercial grinders. This burr design slows down the gears and reduces the amount of friction and heat to preserve coffee's flavor and aroma. The coffee container holds up to 4 ounces of grounds and remains sealed during grinding. For safety, the bean container also needs to be locked into place for the Infinity to operate. Also, for easy cleaning, the bean container and upper burr lift off so you can clean the grinding chamber with the included brush and wipe down the and heavy-duty zinc die-cast housing with Stainless Steel finish.

"Excellent for the price, not amazing for french press" 2010-04-24
By M. Dalrymple-Lepore (Philadelphia, PA United States)
Espresso aficionados will tell you that, if you have $500 to spend on espresso equipment, you should go with a $400 grinder and a $100 espresso maker -- a good grind is THAT important to a good cup of espresso. Granted, I've never used a $400 grinder, but I would say that this grinder is the exception. I have used the Braun burr grinder and could see no value in it, so returned it. The Capresso Infinity produces an excellent espresso grind with no static (static indicates an uneven grind). As another reviewer said, some grinds stay in the grinder -- I usually tap the machine forward at 45 degree angle and then back on it's bottom to get them out. You would think that such a maneuver would knock the burr off-center, but it's still working great after over a year of multiple uses per day. The only drawback is that the coarse grind is not terribly coarse -- if your main brewing method is a french press, you may be happier with the Cuisanart burr grinder -- which does nicely with coarse grind but produces insane amounts of static at an espresso grind.

"What a Difference" 2010-04-23
By T. Kestly
Ive been researching coffee grinders for over a month, and , I finally decided on the infinity. Im using it to grind for a french press and auto drip. Which is nice because I dont need to change the setting. I can tell the difference right away compared to the small grinder ive been using. This thing is GREAT--I love it--Its quiet, its easy to use, just make sure you clean it after each use. The grind comes out perfect every time. People talk about the static, thats only if you grinding super fine. Amazon is the only place to get it--Take a chance--You wont be disappointed----Make sure you read the directions - Good Luck !!

"Even grind, but a lot of effort in constant cleaning" 2010-04-21
By Bud William Feuless (Houston, TX United States)
The Good: Fits a 12 oz. bag of beans in the hopper just perfectly. At two notches off the finest grind, takes exactly three full dial twists to finish the job. Does not get hot at all, produces an even grind.

The Bad: Even on small batches of 4-5 scoops, leaves a full scoop of grounds in the burrs that must be brushed out, regardless of roast or oiliness of the bean being used. This may be more effort than most want to put in. The included brush is a silly small 2 cent affair and must be replaced with a good brush from the local coffee or cooking store. Bogs down at 1 notch from finest. I notice that their idea of fine is not the same as the average coffee shop using even a Bunn grinder. The Fine (not espresso) for paper filter/Melita from a Bunn is about the same as the very finest setting on this grinder, which is far from Turkish. I would not recommend it for espresso or finer grinds. My old Braun, which had flat burrs, created a better grind, though it ran hotter and created more dust, but that is the nature of small grinders that truly achieve a fine grind.

Hints: Again, replace the brush with a larger natural bristle brush from the local coffee or cooking store, it will allow you to clean the burrs much faster. What I do is remove the top burr, brush that off above the coffee filter to recapture those grounds. I then hold the entire unit with my hand supporting it under the clear plastic receiver, while I use the brush to push extra grounds from the lower burr into the opening that goes to the receiver. Takes me about 30 seconds to get everything reasonably clean and recapture most of the coffee. Oh, and I also put an "x" of masking tape on top of the hopper cover after the 4th time I forgot to remove it (it is invisible) and emptied a scoop of beans on top of the cover, not realizing in my morning stupor that I had not yet removed it. My floors are now bean-free!

"Looks Good, Tastes Bleh!" 2010-04-28
By upthewrongriver (GA, USA)
Produces lukewarm coffee. Cannot make hot coffee, even using the 1-4 cup button. Uses a hotplate which only heats the outside of the thermal carafe. This is a useless feature; can't place it anywhere. I've owned a 12 cup carafe coffee maker by Cuisinart for the last couple of years. It made great coffee and made it hot. It tended to sometimes overflow if the basket was not properly inserted. Overflowing coffee ran down into the buttons on the base and disabled all the controls. This DCC-1150 model has the buttons above the carafe. I thought this would solve the overflow problem. It would be a great design if the temperature issues were addressed.

"Love it! some people whine over nothing!" 2010-04-23
By C. Kay Hill (Michigan)
I bought this coffee maker over a year ago. Still works great. Keeps coffee hot. How long do you expect to keep coffee hot enough to burn your lips? All these whiners need to shell out the big bucks for a $200-300 coffee pot. For $70. you get a great tasting cup of coffee, you dont have to worry about forgetting to turn it off or getting burnt coffee, and the thermal carafe keeps the coffee hot for hours...then pretty warm after that. only thing is pouring in the water is kinda tricky..but, learn to turn your arm just right, and its in. I love it, would buy another in a second.

"Cuisinart DCC-1150BK 10 cup" 2010-04-22
By Eugene W. Brooks
I am MUCH happier with this coffee maker, than the one I replaced ( A Cuisinart Grind and Brew). It is so easy to use, as opposed to the old one which was VERY time and labor involved. Anyone looking to buy a Cuisinart coffee maker should heed the many warnings of buyers who tell of the time involved washing the grinder after EVERY use with the Grind and Brew. Buy an inexpensive grinder if you prefer whole bean, and purchase this model.

The only negative I have of this model, is that the water fill level is not clearly marked, and transfer of water by means of the carafe is hindered by the cover. Otherwise it is a great, fast machine!

"Great coffeemaker while it lasted" 2010-04-20
By Paul Graff (Houston, TX USA)
Got this last Christmas and apparently the electronics have failed after 3-1/2 months. Won't turn on, no clock display, no lights. Not sure I even want to wait for a replacement. This is my second Cuisinart coffeemaker and the last one lived for 6 years. Just unlucky, I guess.

"4.5 stars out of 5stars, Good value for the money" 2010-04-17
By Gabe D. Impert (Seattle, WA USA)
When you buy a coffee maker you have two options. Get one with a glass carafe or one with a heat insulated metallic carafe. If you go the glass route the glass container looses the heat quickly so the hot plate stays on to compensate. The problem with that is after 15 minutes the coffee gets bruised from too much heat and looses flavor. The metallic route turns the hot plate off and retains the heat with the special insulation that the glass design can't offer. A professional heat insulated thermos will retain the heat for maybe 5 hours. Coffee maker insulated thermoses like the one you get with this model aren't as good and can only do a good job keeping it hot for 2 hours in my opinion. Some reviews said this design kept it warm for 5 hours.

Pros
* 3 year warranty. My old Krups broke after a year and it came with no warranty.
* Heat insulated carafe to retain fresh tasting warm coffee all mourning.
* Charcoal water filter built in to filter out bad tasting tap water before it mixes with coffee.
* Automatic timer option so it will turn itself on and brew any time of the day. Tried it out and works like it should. The stuff starts brewing right when I wake up. Coffee purists say coffee should be kept air tight before you brew it so letting it rest in the machine not air tight with this feature would violate that principle. I thing=k it tastes fine.
* Has a feature for brewing 5 cups + or 4 cups or less. This way it adjusts the hot plate accordingly. Cheapo coffee makers will have a set hot plate setting no matter how much liquid is in the carafe. So if your brewing less it might get burnt were if you were brewing the max amount the carafe can hold it heats it just right.
* Beaps when coffee is ready to serve.
* Machine sell for less than $100 but most machines that come with these features

Cons
* Carafe can consistently keep coffee warm and fresh for 2 hours but after that I need to microwave. I usually only need a 2 hour window so it isn't a problem for me.
* Narrow space to pour water in machine. I use a measuring cup to pour, otherwise water will spill down side of machine.
* Automatic timer feature not intuitive.
Having it turn it self on and brew for any set time is not intuitive to figure out and instruction book doesn't explain well. After maybe 8 minutes of monkeying around I figured out how to use every feature it offered.
* 10 cup max. Some machines can brew 12 cups. I will never have a tea party for 10 or 12 so I could care less.
