The Capresso CoffeeTeam GS is a fully programmable 10-Cup Coffee Maker/Conical Burr Grinder Combination. Professional, solid-steel conical burrs have 5 grinder settings from coarse to fine for adjustable coffee strength. The slow burr grinding imparts minimal heat, preserving more aroma and flavor. There is a 6-ounce capacity bean container and a see-through window that allows you to check that ground coffee flows smoothly into the filter holder. There is a detachable see-through cover for easy cleaning of the grinder channel. The Digital Control Panel has an easy to read illuminated LCD display, Programmable Clock/Timer, 5 programmable brew amounts for 2-10 cups, and 3 programmable coffee strength settings; mild, medium and strong. There are 2 Mode settings: Grind/Brew - for grinding programmed amount of whole beans directly into the Gold Tone Filter, then automatically starts the brew process and Brew - push the filter release button to open the swing out filter holder, add ground coffee without using the grinder. Charcoal water filtration removes up to 82% of chlorine and other impurities from tap water. The filter holder and one charcoal filter are included. Features: 2-hour safety shut-off, Drip Stop and Stop-and-Serve. Nonstick coated warming plate. 900 watts, 200-degree brew temperature. Black with stainless steel accents.

I owned the predecessor to this model with the swing out basket. Prior to that unit, I used a Cuisinart that had a nice 12 cup capacity but suffered from a design which had the steam from coffee brewing went directly into the chamber where the coffee grounds came out which usually led to a mucky mess and a frequent need for clean up. The Capresso design, with its swing out basket, corrected this problem and made great coffee. We used that machine daily for about five years and then it finally gave up and would not heat the water anymore. When I went online to find a replacement, I learned that the models available had changed substantially but I liked the Capresso brand, so I selected the Capresso CoffeeTeam GS as its replacement.
If you don't already own a Capresso, then I will tell you that the key to these coffeemakers is CONSISTENCY. They use a burr grinder which is known to give reproducible results and have settings for grind diameter and coffee strength. So once you get these settings dialed in, you will get a great cup of coffee each and every time.
After using the new Capresso CoffeeTeam GS, I will say that this machine is even better than its predecessor in all respects. The coffee grinder is quieter (also lower frequency), there are four grind settings instead of three, the elimination of the swing out basket means the unit takes up less space, the better carafe design leads to fewer spills, the stainless steel accents make the unit look nicer, it uses the cheaper basket filters compared to the cone filters and, in general, the unit can make stronger coffee. The other attributes are much the same in that the brewing process is vented away from the grinder and the coffee maker consistently makes a great cup of coffee once you get it dialed in. With four grind settings and three coffee strength settings, there are twelve combinations for you to experiment with. If you want especially strong or weak coffee, you can also play tricks with the amount of water used (for example, set the coffee maker to grind beans for 6 cups but only pour in 4 cups of water to get stronger coffee and do the reverse for weaker coffee). One other surprise is that the bigger black on white LCD is so bright that we no longer need to have a kitchen light on at night when we go to sleep! ;-)
Of course, some other things would have been welcome changes, such as a 12 cup carafe for when we have company over, a larger bin to hold the coffee beans, an even quieter grinder (I think it is a bit funny, though, that people expect such an inexpensive appliance to be nearly silent) but these are really minor nitpicks. Moreover, given the improvements of this new model over the old one, it appears that Capresso is listening to their customers and putting this feedback into the design of their new models which is great to see.
Go ahead and buy this coffee maker -- you won't be disappointed!

Ok, wow. I've had this home coffee station for a month now. No negatives so far, and here are the positives:
Grinder is quiet and so far, no clogs in the delivery chute. Unlike other machines I've owned, no issue with dark or oily beans clogging up the chute. Coffee is H..O..T hot! Unlike so many of the home brewing stations, this one really delivers a hot cup of coffee. I've actually scalded myself a few times and that's a good thing! The settings on this machine are so versatile that you can make your brew light to strong with a simple push of a button. It's a breeze to clean up too.
I'm a coffee snob. I buy only custom-roasted coffee - have for years. I like my coffee dark, strong and full of flavor. My better half will tell you that I have been in search for the perfect home brewer for years and I usually buy a new machine about twice a year, if not more. Well I think I'm in coffee love with the Capresso. I can't imagine finding a better machine anywhere, and trust me, I've tried all the high-end home brewers.

I've had other capresso units in the past and have liked them, so when my previous 5 or 6 year old version was getting on it's last legs I decided it was time to try another. Capresson seems to be never satisfied with their products, always tweaking and improving them, and this is certainly an improvement over the older version. Love the interior path for the coffee, lack of swing-arm (which was what was wearing out on my old one). Yes, it's loud in the morning. But that's actually a good thing - nothing like the noise of coffee grinding to get me out of bed in the morning.

We like good, dark, fresh coffee. We used a conical burr grinder and basic coffee maker for year, putting up with the mess of transferring grinds. Our reason for a grind and brew was primarily for cleanliness. The desire for a conical burr grinder limited our choices.
